Elena found out that Damon has been tracking Stefan and Klaus. Upset but still determined to help bring Stefan back home, she enlisted Alaric's help. Damon knows that Klaus still thinks her dead and that it should stay that way. Seeing no other alternative, he agrees to help her confront Stefan. Things did not go as planned. Stefan stops Elena from helping him, explaining that he knows he's been on human blood too long that even if he did try and get help, it would take decades. Time she doesn't have as a human. Feeling dejected she leaves. Damon drives her home after playing distraction for Klaus but he doesn't feel at all settled with this decision. He still wants to help his brother and as much as he cares for Elena, he doesn't want to be her second choice.

Meanwhile Stefan finds himself confused that Klaus acts as though he knows him and when they wake up Klaus' sister he is even more unsettled. Until Klaus tells him to remember. He had known Klaus, known him as Nik and thought of him as a brother during his 'ripper' days. He had fallen for his sister as well, who feels as though it were yesterday. She and Klaus had to run, but now, now they feel they have a chance. A way to find out why Klaus can't create more hybrids. A chance to stay safe from those that hunt them.

What none of them realize is the truth is he can't create more hybrids until Elena is truly dead. Something they may or may not learn, considering she is wearing Rebekah, Klaus' sister's, necklace. They are all running out of time, because the ones hunting Klaus are catching up. On their way to Mystic Falls now. His parents. His mother and the man that raised, but did not sire, him. Why they want him is still unknown. To stop him, destroy him, or to be made hybrids themselves. All anyone knows is they have been tracking him for centuries and will not let anything or anyone get in their way. Of course, they aren't the only ones. After his parents killed his true father, his half sister made it her mission to find him. The only other hybrid currently in existence, thanks to his ritual, she wants answers, and all vampires dead.

Everyone wants something from Mystic Falls and all of them are converging on the small town again. Whatever happens, it's going to be one Deadly Party.
