Elena has always been a rather kind person, empathetic towards others and family oriented. She's grown quite a bit and become stronger, wanting to take on a more protective role for those people she cares about. She's also learned to love, really love to the point of wanting for others even when it's not good for yourself. She's also learning things aren't black or white but many shades of grey, doubting herself a bit and wondering how much like Katherine she would be in the same situation, since it's looking a lot like she is getting there.
