It was funny really, how she was counting down the days. How her life seemed to be ruled by a moon. They all tried to act normal. At school, at home. But she caught Stefan and even Bonnie frowning over things more than once. She was trying to keep everyone from worrying and realizing how much she worried. With a smile and talk of movie nights or school dances. Whatever worked. They still talked and planned. About finding the moonstone, about where Klaus could be. There were still plans and stuff like that. She just didn't want it to be only about plans.
Classes ended for the day and she had no solid plans for after school. Maybe go home, talk to Jenna, carefully of course. Check in on Jeremy and do some homework. So far, it was going to be a boring day. If she had any of those left. Funny that. How you could complain about a boring life one day and the next wonder where it went. Giving a quick wave to Caroline and Bonnie she headed out, intent on walking home the long way and doing some thinking as she did.
“I have way too much homework and way too little interest.” She sighed as she shoved books into her locker. The weather had just started to turn come afternoon so she grabbed her jacket to pull over her long sleeved blue shirt and jeans. Pulling her hair out from the collar she pulled her messenger bag over her shoulder and debated before finally getting at least the math book and putting it in the bag. "Might as well. Test next week."
Whether or not she cared about things like tests seemed to depend on the day. Or time of day. Since she was deciding to be optimistic, she decided that meant caring about things like homework and tests. With a satisfied smile she closed her locker and turned to head out the back away from the parking lot and stopped only three steps from her locker when she nearly ran into someone. "Oh! Sorry, I, guess I wasnt' watching where I was going."

Stefan had done the school thing. His classes consisted of Biology, English, and some others that he shared with Elena. In all reality, it was just as any other day with the exception being for this day he hadn't had football practice. What did that mean to Stefan? It meant he could see Elena earlier that afternoon and give her a ride home. He had just put his textbooks in his locker and was heading towards Elena's locker when he spotted her.
She was putting her own books away and had just turned around when he came up behind her and brushed his hand across the side of her neck softly. She had run into him and he had to laugh. Didn't she realize it was him? Stefan thought that Elena was beautiful. Even when she was stressing or worrying about something, he found her in intoxicating. As he lowered down his hand from her hair, he caught her by the elbows to steady her in case she lost her balance.
Hello Elena. You should be more careful, you know. Whats got you all miserable? It wouldn't take a rocket scientist to realize something had Elena in a sour mood. It was just left to Stefan for the time being til she told him, to figure it out. He glanced from her towards their left. A few students were hurrying to their lockers and getting their belongings so they could leave. He seen Bonnie and Caroline up the hallway some heading out. His focus then went back to Elena.

She didn't realize immediately that it was Stefan, but she should have. Few people could actually catch her unawares, especially in a crowded hallway, but Stefan was one of them. She let out a huff of air and relaxed when she did notice it was him. A smile pulling at the corners of her mouth. "Or maybe you should stop sneaking up on people."
Her face moved into his hand for a moment before she moved up onto her toes to brush her lips over his. She was brooding she knew, and she hated that so a distraction was more then welcome. Everyone got stressed and she could see it on their faces when they were at a loss, so she wasn't going to add to it with her own brooding. With a shrug she adjusted her bag to the side and added a bright smile. "Oh the usual. Surprise test, way too much homework and, my friends not telling me their plans."
With a tilt of her head she shot him a look. She knew he was talking with Bonnie and even Jeremy and no one was talking to her, but she wouldn't make a big deal of it right now. A serious discussion would come sooner or later, now was really wasn't the time. Instead she glanced past him to the doors. "No practice today? Or secret club meeting?" She teased with a poke in his side.
Elena was happy that he was on the team. Not because of the whole dating a football player, which totally would have been the case a few years ago, but because he enjoyed it. Having any sort of normal life was important to them both, especially now. Threading her arm through his she slipped into step with him.

Stefan grinned at Elena. He hadn't snuck up on her. He knew that too. She had just been too deep in thought and talking to herself to have seen him. He leaned in and whispered against her ear. I'd never sneak up on my favorite beautiful woman. Never.
Surprise test? It was probably a test that Stefan knew by heart and had taken before too. With a quirk of his brow lifting up, he reached for her book bag and gently took it so that he'd carry if for her. Need a study partner? I'll help you, you should know that. Unless you have a study date with the girls tonight?
At the mention of football practice, Stefan glanced behind him to where he had come from a short time before. Nope, there was no practice today. He looked back into Elenas brown eyes and grinned. I'm free as a bird tonight. What would you like to do?
The jab to his side had him grinning all the more and reaching out for that hand with his free one. He gently tugged her towards him and started walking towards his car. Keep it up with those fingers and I may just had to bite each one off..slowly..
